Your Health Insurance Guide

Under 65

These are major medical plans for individuals and families under age 65 who don’t qualify for Medicare. They include ACA marketplace plans, private plans, and alternative options like short-term or fixed-benefit plans.

Medicare

Medicare is federal health insurance for people 65+ or those under 65 with certain disabilities. It includes:

  • Part A (hospital insurance)

  • Part B (medical insurance)

  • Part D (prescription drugs)

  • Medigap or Medicare Advantage (optional plans to fill gaps)

ACA Marketplace

The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) offers major medical plans with essential health benefits, and often provides subsidies based on income to make plans more affordable.

Fixed Benefit Plans

These are limited benefit plans that pay cash directly to you for specific medical services (like doctor visits, X-rays, or surgeries).

Dental

Dental plans help pay for preventive care (cleanings, exams) and common treatments like fillings, crowns, or root canals.

Vision

Vision plans cover regular eye exams and help pay for glasses or contact lenses.

Supplemental

Supplemental insurance helps fill the gaps in your primary health coverage. It gives you extra protection by paying cash directly to you when you face unexpected health events – like an accident, hospital stay, or critical illness.

These plans don’t replace your main insurance. Instead, they add an extra financial safety net.
